Mattie Lee Starr Lyle
1902 - 1995
Mattie Lee Starr Lyle was born in Kansas in 1902 to Charles Hedrick Starr and Lucy Jane Clark Starr.
Mattie grew up in Highland in Doniphan County, Kansas. She took an interest in photography and took many of the photographs presented in the Doniphan County Museum. After graduating from high school in 1921 she attended college at the Kansas State Normal School in Emporia, Kansas, where she met William Lyle.
Mattie married William Lyle, son of Alfred A. Lyle and Martha Lyle. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and later to Seattle, Washington. Mattie and William had 1 child; Joyce Estella Lyle.
Mattie died in 1995 in Washington.
